#1 | Gain Speed & Distance Almost Instantly by Maximizing Your X-Factor Stretch
Sang Kim2 Powerful Drills to Instantly Improve Your X-Factor Stretch
If you're looking to gain more speed and efficiency without overhauling your body mechanics, these two drills will help you tap into the power of your X-Factor stretch immediately.
⛳ Drill #1: The Rotation Hold
Grab a golf club and hold it out in front of you, aligned with your target line. Now place your hands behind you as if you're at the top of your backswing.
From here, rotate into your lead side while maintaining your position. Focus on feeling what your lower body is doing as it moves forward.
This movement helps isolate and improve the rotational sequence critical to maximizing X-Factor stretch. If you can feel a bit more resistance or stretch in this position, you’re on the right track to increasing both speed and efficiency.
🔥 Drill #2: The Pelvic Punch
This next drill is simple but extremely effective. Set up in your normal stance and take the club back to waist height.
Now, hit the ball from that half-swing position. You’re not relying on your upper body here — you’re generating all the power from your lower half.
Done correctly, this will train you to initiate with the hips and fire through with rotational force — the key to X-Factor stretch.
💡 What to Expect
If you execute these drills with intention, you’ll notice:
- More efficient use of your pelvis during the downswing
- Improved sequencing between your upper and lower body
- Increased swing speed — without additional strength or flexibility training
Do these two drills regularly, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how quickly your speed increases. No complicated routines, just smart mechanics.
